Thank you so much for these lessions. You are really really my savier. Thanks again.

I'm posting this through my boyfriend's screen name, therefore I'm not 845celloguy. Anyway, please clarify that you are instructing how to sing "high" notes in a BELT or POP style of singing! Your instruction is quite lacking in the legit department. I honestly don't see how you're qualified to teach voice at all seeing as how your "resume" states that you have a degree in music and theory and not vocal performance. Also, you seem to be sitting in a room full of musical instruments which makes you look like you're one of those sleazy producers who thinks he knows everything about everything when it comes to music.LOL. By the way, I have 29 years of vocal instruction behind me to support these statements. Thank you.

Thank you Mark! I like this part so much. Sweet little dog. That's all I think now, when I am in my lesson and going to high notes. It's so much fun. My problem was that my larynx was raising, I guess that's a standard... Whatever thank you!

Why is it that I can get no pictures nor sound on "How To Sing better..."?

I fail to see the connection between screaming and singing high notes.......where is that masters of music from? That's more of a belting technique, which if not taught properly can actually damage the voice.

how does one not sound so extremely loud so that people across apartments don't hear you? yelling on notes kind of feels and sounds shrieky, how does one avoid that? when one sings like that people 300 meters away tend to also hear you!

These video's are excellent.

Please stop telling people about this incorrect technique. Now everyone is going to go out and node themselves to death and soon be out of a voice. Learn from Roger Love.

How to Sing High Notes

Hey! I am Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We are going to be talking about vocal performance. Fourth thing that I want to tell you is that it is the same mechanism that you use to yell at somebody is how you sing high notes. So I want you to imagine right now you go outside your apartment and you look and there is a duck in the road and a guy is driving the car with his windows down and he is a hundred yards from you and you have got to yell at him to get his attention. You are going to yell at him, all you are thinking about is yelling at this guy. So you are looking at him and go, “hey!” Just yelling at him - you don’t think about anything but yelling at him, just yelling at this dude. So just take a deep breath and go…”Hey!” Just yell. Now the only difference between that and singing that note is that we just do not stop. So what I want you to do know is imaging you are yelling and you then you just keep on, so here I am; I’m going to yell at this guy but I am not going to stop this time. I go “Hey!” and that’s what I want you to do. So like you yell, but you hold it out. Now in the middle of that your body is going to go “Hey I’m singing! This is too high!” and you are going to try to drop off that note. But that is part of practicing and this is part of building a better voice.
