How To Make A Tissue Paper Ornament

Hi! My name is Courtney on behalf of Expert Village and in this clip we are going to making a Christmas ornament using tissue paper. You are first going to need a round Styrofoam ball any size, you want to have some wax paper or the backing of contact paper this is so that our ornament doesn't stick and then you need to take some pieces of tissue paper and we are going to tare the tissue paper into sections. You don't want to be the same shape or the same size. Once we have torn our pieces we are going to take some liquid starch and a paintbrush and we are going to brush on some starch and then put down our piece of tissue paper. You want to brush some starch over the tissue paper as well to make it stick better and we are just going to alternate or pieces of tissue paper. Once our Styrofoam ball is dry it looks like this and we are going to finish it by putting on a coat of decoupage solution this would give it a nice glossy finish look and it would make it water resistant. So we are going to brush this over the whole entire surface and also while it is wet we are going to add some glitter. Once our decoupage solution has dried on our ornament we are going to take a safety pin and just stick it over the top and then loop some yarn through it and we would tie our yarn and then our ornament is ready to hang on the tree.
