How to Play Freebird on the Guitar

Ho, ho, ho, Santa here for Expert Village. Today I am going to show you how to play "Freebird" on the guitar. You think I got this good just sitting around eating sugar plums? Baby it takes practice. The first thing you need to know to play "Freebird" is that it is in the key of G. You are going to start with G chord, d, d to e minor, e minor to f, f to c, c to d and we are back to g again. Simple run with chords. The chord progression for "Freebird" is simply a run of the major 5th of the g scale. When the slide lead is played on the g major scale found right in the middle of the neck.. Find your g major chord and we are going to use the slide technique to play down starting at the top g note, the g major scale on this chord. When you are sliding, be careful you don’t press on the notes; just hold them down gently with the slide right over the fret. And that my friend is how you play "Freebird" on the guitar. Ho, ho, ho and a Happy Christmas from Expert Village.
