Putting Speed Drills

Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton from the Reserve at Spanos Park and today we are going to show you a drill on working on your speed in putting and how you can actually improve your speed. I guess speed is the key here to actually hitting good putts that go in. Again when you are actually hitting speed it affects your breaks. So having good speed and getting off the center of the putter, this will be a good drill for you. What I like to do here and again we are working on speed, what we are going to try and do is we are going to have a distance between a ball that was actually placed or you can use a T in the hole. What I like to do is see how many balls I can actually get in between our marker ball and the hole with each ball getting progressively farther. Again what we are going to try and do is get the first ball just passed the marker ball and we are going to hit our next ball just a little bit farther than that one. We'll hit our next one farther than that one. Again our whole object here is to actually try and see how many balls you can get between your marker ball in a hole and again the more balls you get, the better your speed is going to be. Again it is a really good drill working on your speed. It actually helps you to make more puts but it also actually helps you to avoid pre-putting. Okay what we are doing here is we are trying to actually get these balls and we are working on our speed. Again this is really good drill working on your speed. It actually helps you actually make more putts but it also actually helps you to avoid pre-putting. Okay what we are doing here is we are trying to actually get these balls and we are working on our speed and putting. Again this is a drill that really enhances your speed. What we are trying to do is hit the first ball, just get it past our first marker ball and then we are going to take another ball and get it just past that one. The object of this is actually see how many balls you can get between your marker ball and the hole. The idea of this whole drill is work on your speed and see how many balls you can get just past the ball progressively getting farther. What you actually do is the ability to get past the ball and you start over. Again you are going to see that your putting becomes a lot better. Again more balls you hit in between the better your putting is going to be. Again this will help you avoid pre-putting and will also help you make more than one putt.
