How to Use Wax & Glaze to Add Detail to your Pottery

Hi I'm Betty Ingham on behalf of Expert Village. After you have waxed the bottom of a platter and sometimes you have to just paint it on cause obviously we couldn't dip that in the electric skillet and we painted the grapes a purple glaze and we painted the leaves a green glazes. What we are going to do is we are going to have to put wax now, wax resist over those because we don't want the desert sand color that is going to be on the rest of our platter to get into this color. Now sometimes I also go ahead and I make some embellishments with my pencil. I did that, that glaze has wax in it or that pencil has wax in it so the glaze would go off of that.
