Pool Table Etiquette

Hi, I'm Michael Lamendola with expertvillage.com and today we're going to shoot some pool. Now, pool is considered a gentleman's game and, while it is or not, there's still a few polite things you should think about when you're playing the game of pool. Now, first of all, my buddy Jeffrey Vas here is standing right in the line of my shot. Now, it bothers most people even though they won't admit it. But, when I'm trying to line up my shot and I see Jeff screwing around, it makes it difficult to concentrate. So, I'll say, Jeff please move and don't stand in my shot and, wow, such a nice guy. Now, another thing you want to think about is please don't put drinks on the table because if they spill you're going to ruin the felt and the management will have a really hard time throwing you out the door. Finally, something to think about, you might have a shot where you need to bring yourself on the table. And, that's fine. But, make sure one foot stays on the ground at all times. You see, right now I've got a foot up so I can reach this Q ball, but I don't want to beach myself like a whale over the table. Make sure one foot stays on the foot at all times. Besides that being a rule, what it also does is, if you're putting all of your weight on the table, it will make it unbalanced and then the Q ball will start going funny places when you hit it. So, one foot on the ground, don't stand in the way of someone's shot, and don't put beverages on the table. And still don't drink through a straw. You look like a sissy.
