How to Play Carnie Ball

Hi! I'm Michael Lamendola with expertvillage.com, and today we're going to shoot some pool. This is a cute little game that you see whenever you go to the carnival or the fair. It really doesn't have name, but around our house we called it carnie ball. Really, what it is is a chance for you to practice your skills and do the seemingly menial task of making 3 balls. Basically, what happens is you break and then you make each ball, in any order you want and you have to call it. If you can make all 3 balls without scratching, you win a prize. Alright, I'm going to give this carnie ball a shot for the umpteenth thousand time in my life. No promises. Now, a secret about carnie ball is that when you break it don't hit hard. You want to just separate the balls because supposedly that will give you a better chance of making all your balls. Pardon me. What do I have? It's already looking bleak. I'm going to call the 1 ball in the side pocket. Okay. A lot of balls in this pocket. Next up, 3 ball in the side pocket. Now, I'm already thinking to myself I could scratch or I could leave the ball over there. Either way, this third ball is going to be tricky. I'm going to try to use some low, lifting to bring the ball back out. Please don't scratch. Okay. Now what I've got now is the cue ball kissing the 6 ball, which means that it would take an active god to get this 6 ball to into the pocket, because right now the way the cue ball is kissing it, this is exactly where's it's going to go. I'm kind of out of luck, so I'm going to get really creative here. If I make it, I get a prize on the top shelf by the way. What I'm going to do is try to kick the ball back against the 6 and make it there. It's my only option. Seriously, if I make this I want the prize on the top shelf. I'll take my prize now.
