Changing a Mountain Bike Front Spindle & Derailleur

As we change the number of chains that we are using from 3 to 2 or from 3 to 1. We need to make or often times we need to make changes in the bottom bracket spindle link that we use to get to get the best chain line and perhaps we can also change out the type of railer that we are using. For instant on this bike because I want to use just 2 chain rings for a cross country application I changed to a shorter bottom bracket spindle than the normal length that I would use is 1/13 with a triple chain ring set up. I changed this out to a 109 which is going to move everything in. To move everything in and just use a 2 ring set up I changed my front railer type from 1 designed for rode bikes, too 1 designed for rode bikes which is designed around the chain line I am using with a 103 I mean a 109 mm spindle. So usually when you change your nominal chain line you need to change what typed of front railer you use. If your getting rid of your front railer altogether going single speed perhaps 1 gear in the front 1 gear in the back. You can also change your spindle to a narrower spindle for a better chain line a more constant chain line and the core area to all this if you are changing to guided application like we see on the bike here were we got the chain guide sandwiched in behind the bottom bracket shell we sometimes have to go to a longer spindle or change or general spacing for clearance with chain stays and stuff like this. On this bike because its a funny full suspension were every things up there instead of our chain rings begin very close in down here we don't have to change that. Often times by adding a plate to the back of or uh. By adding a plate there we need to change our spindle link to make it longer for more clearance. So if your changing things up especially adding a chain guide or changing from a double ring I mean a triple ring to a double ring set up be aware that you may have to change your bottom bracket spindle to.
