Basic Jumper Cable Electrical Information

I'm Mark Blocker on behalf of Expert Village. The automotive electrical system primarily for the last 25, 30 years, is based off of 12 volt battery. Some vehicles, diesels, and trucks would use 2 of these 12 volt batteries requiring extra power. The 12 volt battery consists of 6 cells filled with hydro-choleric acid and that produces the 12 volts necessary for your vehicle to run. Each battery consists of a positive terminal and a negative terminal. The negative terminal grounds to the vehicle's chassis and body and engine providing a secure negative polarity throughout the vehicle. The positive terminal connects to a various electrical connections as necessary to make that circuit complete. Watch the next segment on electrical safety.
