Why Home School your Children?

Hello! My name is Terry Neven, I'm the administrator and the principal of Sunland Christian School. In this clip we are going to talk about why families choose home school. Research was done at UCLA studying students that were taught at home to discover why they were taught at home. There were a variety of reasons but the main one was that families felt there was family conflict between home and school. Parents were concerned that they were learning the values that they wanted them to learn. Another area of concern why families home school was that they were concerned about the personality change they saw in their child when they went to local public or private schools. The third area of why families home school is because parents wanted more control of what was happening to their children's education and finally the academic success is proven that home school is actually 1 or 2 level above their peers in both public and private schools. These are just a few of the reasons why many families choose to teach their own children at home.
