How to Win Hockey Face Offs

Hi. Reyno Benjamin with expertvillage.com. I'm going to talk a little bit about face off. When the referee drops the puck, the trick to winning the face off is you got both players’ sticks facing each other getting ready to drop the puck, is to watch the referee’s hand. He drops it; you can either try to pick it out of air or as soon as it hits you wanna hit it back towards your team, so you can have control of the puck. So watch the hand when he drops it. Puck drops, you want to snap it back before he gets it. So he drops the puck, and I want to bring it back to my players so they can control of it. Once they can control they can watch where they are going. The trick to this is watch the hand of the referee go down. Picking up the puck snapping it back. You are going to take it back. Usually most people want here hand right so when you guide it you drop it this way. You want to brought back to your players. Some people have there hands here a lot people have them here. I lot of pro have there hand here facing this way. So when you are down here you drop the puck. You want to take it here and you want to bring it back so your team has control of it. First thing watch where the hand of the ref is. You can pick it out of air or you let it hit. You want to be the first guy to push it back to your team. The team has control, they can go down the ice.
