Guitar Setup & Intonation Basics

Hi this is Bill Macpherson for Expert Village in this clip I would like to talk about all the things you need to do before you get into intoinating your guitar. The most important thing is put a new set of string first off, the other thing you want to do is any type of set up on your guitar you want to do this now before your intonation. Your intonation is always the last thing you want to do so setting the action height you want to do now, setting your neck, a bow or reliefing it anything that you want to do, do it now before your intonation. Another one of the most important thing is your tuner, and you need to get a real high quality tuner if you get a cheapo tuner it may end up being a little bit off. Now the tuner that we're using for this video is not the best in the world but it's we're going to use it for this one just because most people have a tuner something like this. But you really want to get into something a little bit better if you want perfect intonation. Something like maybe a stroke tuner which could be quit expensive so the more you spend on a tuner you get high quality one the better the intonation will be.
