How to Clean a Dog's Teeth
Hi this is Elise McMahon with ExpertVillage.com and in this video series we are going to be talking about canine dental health. If you would like to find out more about my services you can visit my website at www.canineheadstart.com. So in this short clip we are going to be talking about what we do if we find a little amount of tartar on the teeth. We just showed you what tartar looks like and as this little girl has just a little bit of tartar. This is something that if you are comfortable and you are confident you can probably take care of at home. They make dental tools for doggies and you can pick that up at a number of places, one of them is Pet Edge, petedge.com. I am going to be using a little dental scaler and I am going to show you how you can go about taking off some of that tartar. It is very important before you start that you actually have gone through the previous steps of desensitizing your dog to a dental exam if they are comfortable with it because you do not want to slip and cut their jaw. So we are just going to go to that tooth that we had over here that had a little bit of tartar, I am going to take the dental scaler and I am just going to pick away at it gently. Good girl. Good job. So that is how you go about removing some of the tartar. Again you really only want to undertake this if it is just a small amount of tartar like she had on her tooth.
