Ingredients for "Death By Chocolate" Cake

Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village, today we're going to make "Death by Chocolate" cake. This is a rich chocolate tort that's filled with a raspberry glaze and a chocolate ganache totally covered with chocolate ganache and garned with chocolate curls, chocolate roses, and chocolate leaves. This is a chocolate lovers dream. Let's start our Death by Chocolate cake by taking out all the ingredients to make sure we have everything we need. I have here ingredients for the cake, ingredients for the ganache glazed, and then we'll be using some raspberry jam and a little raspberry liquor to brush the inside of the cake. What we'll need for the cake is 8 oz of a nice bitter sweet chocolate, 2/3 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 4 eggs, 1/3 cup of sour cream, a teaspoon of vanilla, 1/4 cup of cocoa a nice dark rich cocoa, 1/2 cup of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. For the ganache glaze we'll be using an additional 8 oz of chocolate and remember get a really nice, bitter sweet chocolate a good quality chocolate, and 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and to brush the inside of the cake we'll be using raspberry preserves. I prefer the all fruit type preserves and some raspberry liquor.
