I really don't think y'all should be calling this the "Country Two-Step" or "Texas Two-Step", because I have never seen anyone try and dance a two-step like that in a Texas dance hall. I go out dancing every Thursday night, and if someone did that they would be promptly stepped on by their partner. I have even danced with members of my university's prominent exhibition Country and Western dance team when I was noticed as an excellent dancer at the hall. They were doing the exact same thing everyone else was, and the exact same thing that they do during their exhibition shows and lessons. Go down to Texas, find a REAL dance hall, and learn the real "Texas Two-Step". Try Gruene Hall (pronounced green) in New Braunfels, Texas, or go to a little town called College Station and check out The Texas Hall of Fame on the Thursday night, Austin (that is our capital), Houston, and Dallas all have some too. However, the smaller towns have a much better down home country feel to them. Gruene Hall is our oldest dance hall, and always a lot of fun especially when some good ol' Texas country is playing. Really though, THAT is NOT a two-step you will ever see in a dance hall in Texas.
