How Long to Cook Cornish Hen

Hi, This is Dave for Expert Village. Today we’re going to make some Cornish game hens with autumn fruits. Okay, it’s been just a little over an hour now and let’s check our game hens. They seem about ready, I’ve taken a look at them, and, but let’s make sure. A couple of ways to test their doneness, let’s take them out, put them right on the stove here. Take our foil off; oh they’re beautiful, just beautiful. So, a couple of ways to test, one is you just get a toothpick and you pick out just a thigh and if the juices run clear, as you can probably see here, yes, they’re beautiful, you don’t want to see any pink there, otherwise you want to put them back in the oven. Another way to test, is you can, just grab the leg here and see whether it moves real easily, also the wing, see how its almost about to fall off. Third way is, you pick it up, try to be careful with it so it doesn’t fall apart, no harm done if it is, but you can see its all completely done there and how ready it is to go. So these birds are ready, ready to garnish.
