Hi! I’m Dr. Adrienne Mulligan and I am the owner of Camp Verde Veterinary Clinic and I am here on behalf of Expert Village.com to talk to you today about caring for kittens. So anytime that you have kittens whether it be mother’s raising them or your helping to raise them, you are going to run into kitten illnesses and it is important to recognize illnesses in kitties and what they could need and what you could do. For the most part, I am going to tell you that you should take them to the veterinarian if you notice these kinds of symptoms. Kittens will often get diarrhea. Diarrhea can simply be food oriented so it’s a good idea to take them to the vet but if they are still active and really not acting too sick, just have some diarrhea and you are feeding them can food, you might try going to some dry food because it may just be that they are not taking to the can food well. But if they have diarrhea and it’s bad and they are not doing well and not wanting to eat, then that diarrhea needs to be addressed. There are a few nice little anti-diarrhea things on the market. This one is called Dia Gel and I don’t know how many veterinarians carry it but it is available to veterinarians and I have had more success with this product in little kittens and cats for helping with uncontrollable diarrhea. It is rather natural. It has things like cameo oil and oregano oil so this is a nice little Correctol.
