How to Open Your Cars Hood for Auto Repair & Maintenance

Hi! I’m William Myers with Subaru for Expert Village. Today I’m going to show you how to open a hood, first let’s go look at the hood latch. All Subaru hood latches are located on the driver side of the car right by the drivers kick panel right there and all you do is pull forward and the hood pops, now let’s go unlatch the hood. There’s a secondary latch that keeps it from coming up, reach your hand in just to the driver side of the car you’ll find a little latch and just lift up, then all you have to do is take your pop rod and put your pop rod in your lock. This is the latch you just push it over and it’ll unlatch the catch up there and it’s just spring loaded and that’s the secondary lock, now that’s how you open your hood.
