Uses of Close Up Shots: Camera Angles

Hi, this is Kevin Lindenmuth for Expert Village. I'll be talking about camera angles and camera moods. The medium shot was from the waist up to the head and a close up is usually just the head, usually from the shoulders and up. You see this a lot with interviews with television and you'll see it on movies and such to where you are more focused on the actors face and the expression; you can kind of tell what they are thinking. It's a very much more intimate shot. It picks up everything, the close up. Also with an object, to pin point an object you if you want to see something more clearly on a shot of course it's just a close up. You just definitely have to know what shots you are going to be using and what effect. If you want to show somebody have some type of motion of course, you want to use the close up. So it definitely brings you a closer image to the moment.
