Hi! I am Mike Oberst with expertvillage.com. I am a bagpipe instructor. In this segment, I will be playing a tune called Amazing Grace on the highland bagpipes and I will be using a lot of different grace notes that we have been going over.
Thanks. I have been interested in learning to play and this series has given me a good basic clue about the bagpipes. Again, thanks.
Hey mike - I just started learning how to pipe in january. my instructor loaned me her pipes for the week and told me to try and play them. i first started by removing the drones and just playing the chanter. I just about fainted trying to keep it running, but i got it to make some noise. then i put on the drones and plugged the chanter, but i cant get the bag to fill up...am i doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the pipes? the bag holds air when the drones are plugged but loses air as fast as i can blow with them unplugged. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
I only wish you would make it clear to people that watching these videos does not merit going out to buy a set of pipes. I also think you should actually play the pipes more in these videos. Just because you play in a pipe band does not mean you should teach, sorry.
What a marvelous series of videos. Very helpful. Great work, Mike. Hopefully you'll put out another series, intermediate, perhaps, then advanced.
Not bad but drones a little off tune but good none the less.
Good work Mike,another series pleas
