Homemade Makeup Bags: Stitching the Sides

Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. So once you’ve ironed on your interfacing the next step is stitching up the sides of your handles. Now we’re going to do the same sort of treatment where the seam allowance is actually going to be on the outside instead of the inside. So just fold your piece in half and take it to the machine and you’re going to want to do at least about a 3/8 of an inch seam allowance because we’re going to go ahead and trim these down afterwards. So once you’ve stitched up both sides of your handles you’re just going to want to go ahead and trim them down to about a 1/8 of an inch and you’re also going to want to trim the very edges. And there you have it our next step will be attaching them to our tote bag. For more info on this topic feel free to check out my website at candiland.com.
