Homemade Makeup Bags: Attach the Side & Bottom Panels

Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to attach the sides and the bottom to your side panels for the tote bag. Now ordinarily when you’re using most fabrics you sew on the wrong side and then you turn it inside out, but because we’re using felt we’re actually going to stitch it on the right sides, so you’ll end up getting this really cool kind a detail all along the seams with the seams actually showing. So the first step is to take your bottom piece and find the center and this is going to require a lot of pins so make sure you have plenty of pins because we’re going to be stitching all the way around and pinning. And then find the center of your panel and then you just line them up and then just start pinning. When you get to the side you turn the fabric and then just pin all the way to the top and once you have one side done you’re going to want to go and do the other side…and do it the same way when you find your center and then find the center here and just match them up.
