On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Paul Lewis and I'm Rodney Smith and we are here to talk to you about how to become an extra for TV, movies and commercials. Earlier we spoke about getting an agent to help you get extra work. Now there are some agents out there who are really not agents and one of the things I want to let you know and please take me serious as I tell you this, if ever an agent asks you for money, walk right out the door. They are not a real agent if they are asking you for money or if they are asking you that you have to pay them because you need a portfolio or something like that. That is not a real agent. Okay. They are going to get paid after you get paid and they make about 10 percent still here in New York? Is it 10 percent. I believe it is still. So normally typically it is 10 percent that the agent gets. You are going to sign an agreement with that agent stating so but again,if an agent ever asks you for money, walk out of the door, it's a scam, they are just there to take your money and chances are you will never get any work whatsoever, not even a call from them. Usually that happens a lot with non-union actors or they will ask you for money and sometimes people do pay the money and they do get an engagement too, but they are not a reputable agent and after a while they don't get you any more work.
