Hand & Body Position Part 1: How to Play Pool for Beginners

On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Richard Buccola and I am going to introduce you to Pool 101. Now that we’ve talked about our bridges, I am actually going to talk about holding the stick and holding the stick a lot of people don’t realize that it is mechanical. There is a lot of mechanics to this and basically what you want to do and I’ve tried to teach people if you can find the balance point of the stick where it can balance on your fingers, what you want to do is come about 6 inches behind that. That is where you want to hold your stick and what you want to do if you are lining up a shot, here’s your shot. So you have your spot here and you know you are pretty good on the spot here. If you line up your stick, you do your bridge remember doing like this, come around and what you want to do is you actually stand here, put your feet somewhat apart. You want that right hand to be over that white stick or your left hand to be over your left foot. Your right hand is going to be over that right foot and you just take a step forward and you sort of tilt and you just go like this. I am going to talk a little bit more about this when we come up next.
