Basic Game Play Strategies for Stratego

Hi! This is Ken and I’m talking to you about the basics of Stratego. What are the basic strategies? Well, the best way to win the game, apart from having a nice setup and being deceptive of where your flag is, is to remember where all the other pieces are. It’s a game of memory and watching where the pieces move. If you see a piece that’s not moving, like these pieces don’t move, those are bombs or it could be the flag. Any piece that doesn’t move is either the flag or a bomb, so you kind of remember where those are. Meanwhile, the next set of pieces to look for are the general and the marshal. Those are the high ranking pieces, and the spy. You try to use your scouts to locate where your pieces are, and then you remember where those pieces are. Then in the end game, you take your highest ranking, your marshal or your general, and you can go after those pieces and eliminate them from the board because a higher ranking takes over a lower ranking. The key to success is good setup on the board and good remembrance of where the pieces are. Thank you .
