Alternate Flag Strategies for the Stratego Board Game
Hi! This is Ken and I’m talking to you about the basics of Stratego. Once again, the 2 favorite spots for the flag or the 3 favorite spots are along the back wall, but sometimes I like to be sneaky. I like to put them in the middle or on the side, just because I don’t want my opponent to know where the flag is going to be. Of course, I’ll always use a couple of bombs to surround my flag. Here, I’ve used 3 bombs to surround the flag, and I put my other bombs in various locations on the board. I’m also going to put a character, which I think I’ve used by mistake, around. I’m going to put the bomb here. I’m going to put one of my high ranking characters, a 9, 8, or a 7, somewhere around the flag itself. So, just for variation, when you play the same person over and over again, they know where you’re going to put the flag, you try to hide the flag. I never put it towards the front, because those are the first pieces that are usually looked at. I try to put it in the middle or towards the back. Thank you.
