Scouts & Abilities of Stratego Board Pieces
Hi! This is Ken. I’m here today to talk about the basics of stratego, a nice interesting board game. The highest ranking member is 10, so you want to protect your number 10 as much as possible; that’s the marshal. But you have specialized pieces. You have bombs, and the only people who can defuse them are minors, so you want to hold on to your minors, you don’t want them to get lost. So, if I have a number 7 and it needs 3, the number 7 wins; you take number 3 off the board. Higher numbers beat out slower number. So, you want to protect your number 3s. 2, the lowest number, you think they’re not good for anything, but these are scouts. They’re kind of cool because they can move as many place as they want forward. So, they can go all the way down here, and all the way back. All the other pieces move 1 piece all the way down. Now, they can move side ways too. This is how scouts are used to see what opponents there. If I mover over here, and this guy is back of me, and I go all the way down and say what’s that. You say 10, I take them off because 10 beats 2. Thank you.
