The Basics of the Game of Stratego

Hi! This is Ken. I’m here today to talk to you about the game Stratego, a game as I said before, much like chess where good memory, good placing of the pieces on the board, and good strategy can result in a nice win for you. This is the basic board of Stratego laid out here. It’s sort of like battle ground, because it’s an army game. There’s squares where you put your pieces, there’s water hazards etc. Now, to start the game off, you start by putting this in the center of the board so that you can set your pieces, and the other person won’t see where you’ve hidden your pieces and he can do the same thing. The piece are red and blue, and they have different names that come with them. So, basically the flag is the object of what you’re trying to capture. Number 10 is the marshal; he’s the highest ranking person the board. Then we have a general. One general, one marshal. We have the number 8 characters are colonels, and we’ll continue in just a minute. Thank you very much.
