Positioning Counterweights for the Center of Gravity Experiment

Hi I'm Scott Thompson for expertvillage.com, and today I'm going to demonstrate a center of gravity activity using balancing butterflies. The next step is to turn the butterfly over, and you are going to be gluing the counterweights that adjust the center of gravity of the butterfly to the underside of the butterfly wing. We do that by taking the glue stick, put in a nice supply of glue on each wing tip. Don't skimp, because you are probably going to have to move that counterweight around a little bit. And then depending what you chose for weights... I'm going to use the pennies again. Place the pennies roughly were you want them, and that is good for now because there is another good chance that you are going to have to move them around some more.
