How to Make a Rain Stick from Cardboard & Household Items
Hello I'm Annie Brunson on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to make musical instruments with everyday household items. Today we are going to make a rain stick. So what you will need a lot of different things to put inside it to make a nice sound. I'm going to be using a certain dried peas, rice, macaroni, even gravel, popcorn, and even some old nails, screws, and things like that. You will also need a card board tube something you will get maybe a posture that will be mailed in. so you will need a nice cardboard tube. Also some kind of funnel so you don't make a mess pouring all the things in it and things to decorate it. First thing we are going to do is we are actually going to decorate it. So now I have cover the tube and the next thing we are going to do is actually fill it with all the noise making. It is recommend that you use some kind of funnel. If you don't have a funnel you could use a two liter coke bottle with the end cut off. So now I'm just going to fill the tube with all the items. You want to fill it so it is about 2/3 full you don't want to fill it all the way to the top and you don't want to put not enough in but about 2/3 full is the ideal amount of stuff. Now once you have filled it the next thing is to put your lid on. Secure it with duct tape and you have your rain stick. So once you have filled it up shake it around a little bit to mix all the peas and the different things that you have in it. Then you have your nice rain stick so slowly tip it.
