Overhand Shuffling a Deck of Cards

Hi, welcome back to Expert Village. I'm Pete Perata with you today, we are going to learn how to shuffle up some cards. Today we are going to learn about the overhand shuffle. This is a different kind of shuffle where you could do standing even. It requires you to do both hands in the shuffling process. To do the overhand shuffle you take the deck of cards and turn them on their edge like so. I have my two middle on the outside edge, my thumb at the inside, and my index finger and my pinkie finger are free. Now that I have the deck in this position I could simply lift the deck into my hand. Using my left thumb, take a packet off of the top of the deck as I lift the right hand away. I could continue to repeat this process with my thumb. Once you have it down you could do it a little faster. You could also repeat it time after time for a better randomization process. Try to be as random as you can. Letting the cards kind of fall where they want to. Once all the cards falling out of your right hand you could simply grab from the middle or the bottom, lift a large pack away, leaving a smaller pack in your hand and continue to shuffle. Try to make sure that you don't turn any cards over in the process.
