Reducing Jet Lag when Traveling Abroad

Hi! I’m Stephanie Phillips for expertvillage.com we’re going to talk about jetlag and I said it kind of like that because jet leg is awful. What is it exactly? Alright you leave the United States at 7:00 and you’re going to Europe 7 pm you’re on the plane and you arrive on Europe and it’s 6 am in the morning which you only got about 2 hours sleep, you’re tired, you’re fatigue, it’s starts your day off bad there’s a couple things you can help do to try and avoid as much jetlag. First of all about a week before you leave start adapting your schedule so that you are going to be basically on the time that you’re going, for instance check the time on your computer and find out what time it is in Italy right now, if it’s time to go to bed start going to bed a little earlier, get up a little earlier. While you’re traveling make sure you drink lots of water, if you drink lots of water you can avoid the problems of jetlag at least a little bit because it doesn’t matter rather you’re going by plane, well actually a fast plane like a supersonic plane or a regular plane this is what’s going to happen, you’re going to need water. The other thing is the week before start taking some vitamins if you take some vitamins it kind of boost your really your resiliency so if you take some vitamins start taking maybe just a B-complex vitamin every single day and take it throughout your whole trip. One of the things that will add to jetlag and cause you a problem is if you drink a lot on the plane, now I like Champaign lot’s of people like beer, can have cocktails one or two are fine depend on the length of your trip, you drink a lot you’re going to arrive exhausted. When you get to your destination once you get there the first thing you think about doing is grabbing your luggage, go into your hotel or your family friend and you want to climb into bed, it’s a big mistake don’t do it, don’t climb into bed, the first thing you should do is visit a little maybe even take a short tour then in the afternoon take maybe an hour nap but set your alarm clock no longer than that, get up go have a nice dinner, walk around town and go to bed around 8, 9 o’clock otherwise your body clock will never get back and play you’ll spend your day sleeping and your nights awake, you won’t get to see anything and you’ll never recover from jetlag. These are just a few ways you can avoid the problem and make your trip a little bit better.
