How To Use A Camp Stove

Hi! This is Chris and on behalf of expertvillage.com in this clip we are going to talk about using a fuel stove on a day hike or a overnight hike, how to use it, how to prep it, and how to put it away. A fuel stove it requires a fuel bottle. What is important in order to prep this is to actually pump it, this puts pressure into the bottle and allows fuel to come out through the system. Your actual stove unfolds, you want to find a level position, put it on the ground, you want to connect your fuel bottle to the stove itself. Now that your parts are unwind you want to have you a stable position so your pots will rest on there, you want to open your fuel system to allow fuel to go through and you want to take a standard lighter or match, create a small pool in there and then you want to light it. Now fuel has to heat up the system so it would become a jet which take just a few seconds. You want to make sure also that your away from anything that could burn or start a forest fire. Our stove is beginning to heat up at this point it becomes a jet and could be used for cooking, heating or in some cases emergencies case can be used to heat up your tent or your hands. When you are finished with your stove you want to turn it off at the base so that the fuel stops coming in to the stove, allow the fuel to burn off. Once the flame has stopped you could shut your valve down completely so it is turned off, you could remove your fuel bottle, you want to allow your stove to cool, once it has cooled down, your retracted it and put back into its carrying case and back into your pack for travel.
