Hi! This is Chris and on behalf of expertvillage.com in this clip we are going to talk a little bit about sleeping pads. Now there are a variety of sleeping pads available on the market but I brought this one out specifically to show you cause I believe it has many uses not just for sleeping. Now I prefer the foam types because they are actually water proof that can get wet with any damage. Other then just sleeping on them they make great kneeling pads. If you are going to be doing some work on your camp site say or your tent or your equipment you won't bang up your knees it is great to have around. As well if you have rocks in your area you want to sit down it makes for a excellent pad to relax on and keep off all those rough edges from the rocks and debris around you, keep you comfortable during your hike. Believe or not this could be use for a flotation device as well which regular pads won't do so well with that. Again I recommend the foam patting I have actually been in hot springs where I was able to put these down inside the spring and use it like a raft as well. So foam pads could serve a lot of useful purposes when hiking. Even in a case of a emergency the pad could be use to wrap your leg if it was broken or damaged, strapped down and use to keep your leg stable during transport. The simple piece of equipment comes highly recommended even for over night or day hikes as well.
