To play B flat Phrygian, from the lowest string ascending two octaves, place your forefinger starting on the sixth fret of the bottom string. Now keep in mind that B flat Phrygian is actually the same scale as G flat Ionian. It's only G flat major starting from the third scale degree. Your scale should sound like this. Again more slowly. And now ascending and descending.
