How To Layer Summer Hiking Clothes

Hi! This is Chris and on behalf of expertvillage.com in this clip we are going to talk about summer time clothing for basic hiking. Hiking you want to stay very comfortable and in the summer when it is hot you still need to have some layers depending on how far, and how long you tend to being out. Your basic layer a undershirt should be a spandex style shirt that stretches, it gives you a lot of mobility wisp the perspiration off of your body as well. With a pair of pants you want to have on a light wind break type of pants and I highly recommend that you buy the style that you could go ahead and zip off into shorts as well for the summer time because in the evenings in may end up getting cold and you want to put those legs back on. Now included in the summer time along with your standard equipment of shoes your regular other things I highly recommend bringing a windbreaker as well in your backpack. Often times wind storms, rain storms, things like that do creep up on you when you are in the field and you may want that anyway. It is also a good emergency wind break in the evening in case you do get lost. Hats are very important as well for summertime a regular baseball cap like mine works very well to keep the sun from your eyes. But as well I highly recommend a brim hat for especially anything for in the desert climates. When wearing a brim hat it protects you not only from the sun but wind, sand, and brush it is a nice way to put your head through the brush so you don't get scratched. So hats I highly recommend in both winter and summer. The summer time hats are attend mostly to keep the sun from your eyes. In keeping with safety once again even on a basic day hike I do take some elements of clothing encase I am lost of stranded for any reason. Always keep a warm hat even in the summertime. At night it works as a nice cushion on your head as you are sleeping and also keeps that good body warmth inside. Gloves recommend highly as well even in the summer time encase you are stranded. This would keep that body heat in and keep you safe all night.
