How to Drain Motor Oil From a Car
Hi! My name is Dean and on behalf of expertvillage.com, in this clip we are going to drain the oil from the car. I’ve got my wrench and I’ve got trusty rags and I’ve got my oil pan. You will want to position your oil pan not right underneath the drain plug but back a little way from it as the oil will come out an angle; it will not come straight down. Okay, we are going to reinstall the drain plug. The oil, as you can see, is completely drained out. One thing to watch is if your car is cold, it will drain slower but there is less chance of getting burnt. If your car is warm or hot, be careful because the oil could burn you. The plug goes back in nice and smooth, which it should. Take your wrench; I’m going to tighten it. At this point, it is just snug and what you want to do is give it a couple of more pulls to firmly seed the plug. You want to firmly seed it but you do not want to over tighten it as over tightening it can cause damage to the plug that we talked about earlier and damage to the pan that can get very expensive, so please do not over tighten it. Okay, couple snugs and plug is properly secured. Clean up your oil mess and make sure everything is clean.
