How to do an Offensive Line Slip Block on Inside Zone
Okay first block we’re going to cover is a slip block usually used on an inside zone. All Robbie’s doing because he’s covered in this situation and this could be a tackle and a guard, it could be a tight end and a tackle, it could be a guard and a center it’s all done on the play side of an inside zone but all Robbie’s doing is base blocking. So he’s going to come off with a bucket step, play side breast, full bench only thing that he knows because we made a slip call as he got inside hand help, so Doc is sitting here saying okay I’m going to take a bucket step, I’m working on a half bench as my punch inside breast and I’m going to read what the defense does. The key for this guy right here the uncovered guy is to step in the shoe of the linebacker if he over steps he’s got a chance to turn his shoulders and all the sudden the linebackers inside of him, so he has to work to position to block the play side breast with a full bench, if he ends up blocking the linebacker.
