The Importance of Using a Case for Eyeglasses

One of my favorite things is when a patient comes in and wonders why their glasses are all bent out of shape or why they're scratched. They have no idea why these things happen, but yet I'll see them after I look at their glasses, they'll be like, "Oh, okay. Thank you very much," and they'll stick the glasses in their front pocket, pad it twice, bend over and the glasses will slip out. I cannot tell you the importance, how important it is to put the glasses into the proper the case. Just like I tell children, if the glasses aren't on your face, they go in the case. We have a few different styles of cases. This is the typical, probably more important clamshell case, hard. Backpacks, purses, a gentleman can put it in his front pocket. Your glasses are going to be protected so you don't have to worry about the glasses in here under that type of conditions. Felt interior so your glasses are not going to get scratched up. This one is a soft case, and this is really the only soft case I could find in my store. This isn't going to be very protective if you step on them or something of that nature. Your glasses are probably going to break. There's less protection here, even though it still does have the soft interior. This one is a kind of a hybrid. It's harder than the soft, not quite as hard as the clam shell case. Zipper, Velcro, still soft interior, this is okay. This will work just fine. But when you store, think of all the things that you store in your purse that can scratch up your lenses. Gentlemen, think about when you put them in your pockets. I see it all the time. That's how they're getting scratched up -they're falling out of your pockets, there's something in your purse, if you're a lady, that's scratching them up. Try to use your case when at all possible. They're going to protect your glasses and you're not going to wind up with that unnecessary damage.
