Sewing End to End Piping

Okay so in this video I want to teach you how to end piping. There are several different reasons why you'd want end piping in something like a pillow, which the piping would meet again at the end. Not all piping does that but certain projects that you have you need to be able to end the piping and have it meet and look nice. And this is one way to end piping. And that's to make it meet in the end. And basically the cord inside the piping is going to meet the cord on the other side of the piping. Just like this. But we don't want it to look like that so I?m going to teach you how to go in and snip some out and make a little hole and make it like this where it sits in nice. So I'm going to show you the first step of how just to sew on one side. And you can just pretend like this is a pillow you're making a maybe this is the beginning of the piping. So before you even get started sewing you need to save about an inch. Just let it free float like that. And start about an inch in. Okay. There we go. And I always like to back stitch top and bottom no matter what I'm doing, just to make sure it doesn't come loose while I'm trying to work on my project. There we go. And now since I have this one side in. I can just imagine like I went all the way around and here I'm coming up and I'm ready to end my piping and I'm going to have about an inch on the beginning side and an inch on the ending side. So I'm just going to pretend like I'm coming around to the end. I'm going to go ahead and sew it in. And remember this piping is real stretchy, not to pull it. Just let it lay flat like it wants to. Let me do this. This happens all the time. I'm sure it happens to you too. Here we go. Okay. So let's do that again. Just line it right up with the beginning of the piping. And about right here I want you just to stop. And in the next clip I'm going to show you how to prep this area for these two to meet in the end.
