Sewing Crossed Piping Ends Cover Fabric

Okay, so I've gotten this piping laid down and crisscrossed over, and the easiest way really to--in piping--you can see there's a little hump here, if you want you can just go in and snip that and make it lay down nice and flat. And the other side, you can do the same thing. Not that big of a deal, but it makes it lay flat, so I like that; anything to make it look better. Okay, so we're going to lay right sides together. We're just going to make a--sew a straight seam, and we're just going to go over that crisscross like it was just a straight line of piping like this is. And just hold it stiff, and I can tell it looks pretty good, because I can barely tell that that's where it's at. And so just sew right over it. If it tries to get away from you, just don't worry about backing up a little bit and going over it again. There we go. Let's see how this looks. Sometimes when you do this, you have to go over this area again, which won't be a big deal. Looks like I got mine pretty good, except for one little area. I think I'm going to go over that one more time. And when you do your piping like this, you will probably have to go over it again, which is totally okay. I'm going to try to get as close as possible in that little area. I think I got it that time. Let me see. Now, let me flip it over and see what that looks like. Ah, there it looks really good; I got it all that time. And so this is one way to end your piping, and it doesn't look bad at all, and it's pretty simple. It's just crisscrossing the ends, and in the next clip I'm going to show you another way to end piping where you make the ends of the piping cord meet, which is a really professional look at the ends. We'll be back next.
