Okay so since we made this piping I'm showing you different ways to install it in different types of situations. The first one I showed you is how to do it on a straight piece of fabric and now I'm going to show you how to do it on a curve. And this is just a real simple arc. And a lot of things that you might want to make would have an arc like this. Such as a pillow, a round pillow or maybe a butterfly collar, a mens lapel, or just anything that is round that you want to trim. So the first thing that we're going to do is look at it and cut a piece of piping that's going to fit around it. So let's just lay it on top of the chalk and just feel it out, how long we're going to need it. And I'm going to cut a little bit extra. I like to have extra. There we go. Just lay this to the side. And I think the seam allowance on here is a little bit too wide so I'm going to cut it down to half an inch. I'm going to go over here and make just a mark just to let me know that's about how far. And it doesn't have to be perfect because this is going to be inside and nobody's going to see that. I'm just going to eye half an inch all the way down. And if you feel more comfortable cutting off to exactly half an inch you can do that. You made it yourself so you can do what you want with it. Okay. Here we go. And now I'm going to show you how to sew it on. And what you're going to do, if this is the round piece, if you just want to imagine that it's going to look like this. Like this. And it's going to be rounded like so. So you want the edge to be on the outside of the circle. So I'm going to get one edge of the piping and lay the cording right on top of the chalk. There we go. I'm going to lay my foot down where it's right on top of the cord again. I'm going to start of first and do a backstitch. I've got my needle down and as I sew I'm going to slightly pull it. And if you can see how it just pulls a little bit. Not too much. The more sharp the angle the more you need to pull it. And it's all trial and error so you just need to play with your cording. Play with it and just learn how to use it. So I'm just going to slightly pull it, the cording, not the fabric. Here we go. Pull that just a tiny bit. Just a tiny bit more. Okay. And the more you do this the more comfortable you're going to feel about how much to pull and how much not to pull. Okay. There's one piece on. And in the next clip I'm going to show you how to sew maybe the other side of the pillow or the lining underneath the collar. So whatever you're wanting to make this curved piping edge on, I'm going to show you how to put the other side on and sandwich this piping in between. And we'll do that in the next clip.
