Samurai Seiza 3: Sword Drawing Defense

My name is Tom Cohen, martial arts instructor at Makoto Dojo in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our website is www.martialartsnc.com. This clip will demonstrate seiza, or seated defense, against an opponent who is trying to stop you from drawing your sword. As the opponent reaches across to stop you from drawing your sword, rise up on your opposite knee. At the same time, point your elbow at your opponent's throat, creating space enough to draw your sword. Continue to draw your sword from it's sheath, turn it over and grip with the bottom hand as you cut down the center of your opponent.
