Samurai Seiza 1: Overhead Strike Defense

Hi, my name is Tom Cohen, martial arts instructor at Makoto Dojo in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our website is www.martialartsnc.com. This technique will demonstrate seiza, or seated defense against an overhand strike with a dagger into an arm bar. When defending against an upward strike with a dagger, first we're going to block with both hands, rising up on one knee we're going to turn our entire center to entangle the arm in an arm lock. At the same time we're pushing the wrist toward the head as we break the elbow.
