Betting on the Flop in Omaha Poker Tournament

You see this hand? It's a pair of kings. If you were playing Texas Holdem, and you looked down at a pair of kings. You would try to get as many chips into the pot as you possibly can. Given the rules. If it was pot limit, you would bet the pot. If it was no limit, you might just go ahead and commit your whole stack for the flop. Well, in Pot Limit Omaha tournaments you usually don't want to commit your whole stack before the flop until is mathematically unreasonable to do anything else. So, for most of the tournament no committing for the flop. I'll tell you why. Whereas, for kings you are often going to be what's known as a four to one favorite. In Texas Holdem, in Omaha Holdem you're kings are going to be combined with two other cards. Here, I've got ace eight suited, king king. And, you're going to up against other players who have four cards. Now, what are my odds against jack, ten, nine, eight double suited? Well, as a matter of fact I need to look it up to know for sure. But, whereas you can often be in four to one land with Texas Holdem.
