Cutting Clay for Sculptures

First we are going to start cutting the clay in quite into slabs, but you know even quite even slabs. Let me explain why. We are going to cover one base that we are going to use this, wrap it with newspaper, and then we are going to start cutting the slab. Later I will tell you how to do. The match, we have to add those slabs to that structure. This is the kind of structure that later we have to take it off. The clap let me remind you, that when it dries it shrinks approximately ten to fifteen percent. That's a lot of shrink. If you put like core inside the clay when you make the figure when it shrinks because the core doesn't shrink then the clay cracks and then you lose the figure. Than whatever we do here is in the way that you can not do, you don't need to empty it or take off any part of the clay. That's why the max thickness that I use for to make the figurines is like approximately three quarters of an inch. That's whatever we use half an inch, three quarters of an inch. As much even as it's possible for the sculpture better because if you put it in the kennel it bends or it cures and dries. You can leave it and never cracks and you have a very very good and strong figure. Now, next I'm going to tell you what to do with these tow slabs and the support.
