Now I'm going to demonstrate draping for lower extremity while your client is in the supine position. We have already turned the client and all of our draping materials are smooth. We are going to repeat what we did on the other side of the body. We're going to grab all of the material at once. Flip it over. We're going to gently position the leg out towards the edge of the table. This is a really good time to adjust the bolster. Make sure it's right where the client needs it. You're going to take the bulk of the fabric and tuck it under. Once again, if you are seeing a client that still has under garments on you can take and gently fold the fabric underneath the edge of their clothing. You want to make sure that the other foot and leg are thoroughly covered. It's been my experience as I've received massage around the country, and I've also tested people when they're doing their practical exam, they seem to forget that any place that the body is exposed will have a cooler feeling because there is air washing over it. We don't want our client to be thinking about that cold spot. We want them to be enjoying the treatment that we are giving them and to be focused on relaxing. So here you can see that the whole leg is exposed. Sometimes they might even want their hand to be covered. In that case you just accommodate that in a way that comfortable. They can leave their hand down by their side. Or in this case I might ask my client to fold their hand up over their abdomen especially if I might want to expose the area of the tensor fasciae latae and get up in high in the hip.
