Today we're going to demonstrate some techniques on how to work with tendinitis. At this point, we're going to prepare our client for the ice massage segment of this treatment by placing a towel under their shoulder to keep your work surface dry and to provide a little bit of comfort from the dripping that occurs. We have an ice cup that is formed by a Dixie cup being frozen. We've peeled the lip back and we now have a convenient little holder and we're going to work the area in small circles. How's that feel? Okay, so you're going to cover a fairly large area. You don't want to just stay on the area that is the problem. You want to work the surrounding area. And you keep it moving, small, tight circles. You can work a little more slowly, you can work a little more quickly. I like to use ice massage with an ice cup as opposed to just placing an ice pack because it gives a much more thorough treatment of the area. It penetrates more deeply. And you can see now it's bringing some circulation to the surface. It's getting nice and rosy.
