Luggage Security When Planning a Vacation

Hi! I’m Stephanie Phillips with expertvillage.com. We’re talking about luggage security. First step in luggage security: Do you lock your bags? Well, if you’re traveling within the United States, you can’t lock your bag before you get on the plane unless you have a very special lock. It’s called a transportation safety administration lock; a TSA lock. The reason this is the best type of lock currently is because for security reasons, the TSA are the only ones that can get into this lock. If you put in another type of lock on your suitcase, they are going to cut it off, and this leaves your bag open for robbery for somebody else to look inside of it anytime after it leaves your hands. The other thing about luggage security is what would I talk about a pillow; I’m looking for the color here. One of the ways you pick out your luggage when it’s coming off the belt is to put a brightly colored ribbon right around the top; the brighter the color the better. Somebody else isn’t going to be able to grab your bag before you have a chance to get it yourself. Make sure you put a label on your luggage. Not just outside with you name and address on it, but inside. If the tag gets pulled off your suitcase and there’s a label inside and your luggage gets lost, they’ll be able to find out where it goes. There’s lots of things you need to worry about when you travel; luggage shouldn’t be one of them.
