Now that we have a different bit attached to it as you can see where previously the ball bearing was sticking up above the base. We need to adjust this the exact way that the cutting edge will be sticking slightly above the base of the trimmer. To do that, make sure that the base is attached firmly with the locking level, undo the locking screw here and there is a little mechanical screw that will allow you to lower or raise the base as you need. In this particular case we need to lower the base and visually the easiest way is probably just to look right along the plane of the base. That will allow you to see how far the edge of the cutting edge is sticking out, protruding above the base. Once you establish the required height which is usually the thickness of Formica that you will be cutting. You lock in the locking screw. You may want to tighten that for which this particular type of manufacturer provided a little slot for the screwdriver and your ready to go.
